Federal Stone pool coping
The edge that makes the pool feel finished.
Coping frames the water, protects the pool structure, and creates the surface swimmers touch every time they enter or leave the pool. Explore Federal Stone profiles, colors, and edge styles regularly used in Aquarius pool projects.

More than a decorative border
Form, function,
and a comfortable edge.
Precast coping caps the pool perimeter. It helps protect the shell and bond beam, provides a finished transition to the deck, and gives swimmers a comfortable surface to grip or sit on. The correct profile also has to work with the pool shape, tile line, wall thickness, deck elevation, and drainage plan.
Federal Stone profiles

edge style and application.
Use the filters to narrow the selection. These representative profiles show the main design directions Aquarius customers consider; final pieces, radiuses, corners, transitions, and quantities are determined from the pool plan.
Best sellerAQ Coping
A distinctive handgrip profile with an elevated pool-side edge. It provides a secure, substantial border and a classic Federal Stone appearance.
Best sellerDQ Coping
A related raised-edge profile that brings a pronounced finished border to the waterline while retaining a comfortable handgrip shape.
Best seller12" SBN Coping
A versatile, rounded water-side edge that creates a comfortable grip and a clean transition from pool wall to deck.

12" DBN Coping
Rounded on the top and underside for a balanced finish. This profile is especially useful where an exterior pool wall or raised beam remains visible.
Best sellerSU-NOBN Coping
A crisp, eased square edge for contemporary pool designs. Its clean geometry pairs naturally with modern decks, straight lines, and architectural pools.

More Edge Options
Federal Stone also offers additional raised safety profiles, bullnose widths, pavers, gutter/slotted coping, custom stones, radiuses, reverse radiuses, corners, tile cutouts, and transitions.
Color and finish families
Coordinate coping with
tile, deck, and water color.
Digital images are useful for narrowing the direction, but precast concrete naturally varies. Final selections should be made from current physical samples whenever color matching is important.

Classic White
Federal Stone’s most popular and most readily available direction. Bright, timeless coping creates a clean frame around blue water and works across traditional and contemporary pools.

Sandstone Terrazzo
A subtler aggregate appearance available in warm neutrals, cool grays, and stronger accent colors. Integral pigment and a terrazzoed surface reveal the sand and aggregate.

Large Aggregate Terrazzo
A bolder terrazzo finish with larger exposed stone aggregate for more visual movement and contrast. Well suited to projects where coping is intended to become a design feature.
Coping in context

Profile, color, grout joints, radius pieces, tile, and deck materials all contribute to the final result. These Federal Stone portfolio images show coping installed on completed residential pools.

The visible profile is only part of the selection. We coordinate the details that make the coping fit the pool and install correctly.
Choose the edge
Compare safety edge, single bullnose, double bullnose, square edge, and specialty applications based on pool style and use.
Coordinate materials
Review coping beside the waterline tile, plaster finish, deck material, house exterior, and surrounding hardscape.
Map every condition
Straights, radiuses, reverse radiuses, corners, raised walls, transitions, tile cutouts, and steps must be identified from the plan.

Final quantities, custom pieces, lead times, freight, handling, installation requirements, and spare material are documented.
Important expectations for handmade precast coping
Federal Stone describes its coping as handmade. Slight differences in color, texture, thickness, and dimension are normal characteristics of the casting process—not necessarily defects.
- Review current physical samples before final approval.
- Expect longer lead times for colors other than white.
- Allow for nominal dimensions and manufacturer tolerances.
- Do not use screen colors as the sole basis for matching.
